Ambrosia Maple Wood Slabs
Ambrosia Maple is typically found in Soft Maple. The beautiful greyish-brown streaks in the wood are caused by the ambrosia beetle. When the beetle bores into the wood, it leaves a fungus which creates the streaks. Through our kiln-drying process, any further beetle activity is eliminated, leaving behind an artistic and unique pattern. With the same woodworking characteristics as any other soft maple, it can be used for molding and paneling, but is most often used in more decorative projects that display more of the markings, such as tables.
