Brazilian Ebony Wood Slabs
Sometimes called “Brazilian Blackheart”, Pau Santo is commonly used in guitars (backs and sides), turned objects, and knife handles. The heartwood of this lumber is dark brown, sometimes with a grey or green hue. The sapwood is distinguishable from the heartwood as it is pale yellowish color. The wood is used as a subsititue for Lignum Vitae because it has a similar appearnce and density.
